I’m passionate about the creative arts and young people who are gifted in them. With this in mind, artist Holli Luther and I are announcing a new camp designed specifically for teens interested in pursuing creative fields. A.C.E (Artistic Careers Explored)
The week will be chock full of career information that inspires and helps your child to navigate what can be an often overwhelming process . Campers will be assigned a fun, weeklong project and gain direction on an individual piece in your child’s preferred medium.
We will have daily guest speakers introducing teens to career options in the arts, including plans for a graphic designer, photographer, illustrator, fabricator, faux painter, teacher and an architect. Each teen will have their own studio table space and an introduction to creating their personal portfolio for college application purposes.
We will also examine the business side of being an artist and all that is involved when considering a creative career.
Your child will learn how to present their work in a positive way. They will explore their personal style and gain confidence in understanding that their identity is found in much more than their appearance - as is their artwork. We hope it will be an inspirational week in which your teen will learn about him/herself and about their creative process.
An art show will conclude the week with information for parents about the college admissions process.
Space will be limited as we want this to be a very hands-on, helpful experience for your teens. All skill levels are welcome.
Cost is $175 per student.
Supplies for group projects are included.
Sibling discounts are given.
Held July 24 - 28 from 9am to noon at Metro Church in Winter Springs.
