Look around at what you see. Is there something in your yard that is interesting to you? Do you have a type of plant that you like or find fascinating? Are there interesting bugs, insects or critters that you are curious about. Pick something that interests you to really look at carefully.
Once you have found something to study in your yard, look up information about it online. Decide what facts are intriguing to you. Perhaps it is just facts that you yourself have observed. Now find a journal with unlined sturdy pages (if you have one) and sketch with pencil a little spread. If you don't have a journal just use a piece of watercolor paper. You can sketch multiple variations of the same thing or little interesting details. Then get a pen and write a bit about what you've learned or observed. You can make your spread as detailed or as simple as you like. The important thing is that you are enjoying being outside, painting and documenting something interesting. A few examples that I found online are below. Have fun! |
