Six Week Summer Series

If you love watercolors, you can learn them!  Grow in a fun and relaxed environment. A mixture of in-class activity and instruction. Students will learn foundational art theory as well as further explore how to compose their paintings, best use watercolors and make decisions about the placement of objects. 

You'll also have access to an online forum where we will exchange ideas, ask questions and get in-process feedback as we are working on our projects.

This class will get you painting each week and moving forward in your art skills. Having a regular art class to attend online or in person keeps artists learning and provides a creative community. Hope you decide to explore the joy of watercolors together!
Beginner Class Subjects:
This is the perfect class if you are just getting started in watercolors or feel you need a major refresher. Sign up to learn beginner watercolors through this 6-week series. While we paint scenes from every day life, we will explore the following:
  • Understand the basic supplies and how to use them.
  • Learn simple techniques to create your own art
  • Create textures, make color charts and washes of color
  • Getting a handle on how much water to use
  • Determining your focal point
  • Learning basic perspective
  • Introduction to lighting, shadows and shading
  • Highlights, lifting out color and masking
  • Hard and soft edges
  • Surface shapes
  • Understanding different values
Cost: $150 per 6-week session

Get Comfortable

I teach by introducing a lesson or topic, giving examples and then working on a piece together. It is a collaborative and fun time of learning. 

Sharpen Skills

​Each week, we will have a small amount of homework completing the assignments begun in class. Students will then bring their pieces back to share and discuss at the next class.

We will explore foundational art theory that can be applied to careers in any visual art field or just for enrichment and fun!
