We ROSE to the occasion as we freely painted flowers in class last night ... Just a little corny mid-week humor for you. The students and I had a great time filling papers up with sweet, watery, loose roses. As is often the case with our projects, everyone's personal styles really come across. Often times the student's art surpasses that of the teacher! We all enjoy laughing at ourselves and getting better together. Iron sharpens iron ya know. Mine below started looking like cinnamon buns! I could see these in so many different applications ... on place cards, invitations, bookmarks, greeting cards, signs and yes of course I had to work them into a watercolored logo. This one is for our Aunt's incredible cake company in Ohio. I had been longing to paint one of her beautiful wedding cakes for years and practicing roses for this bakery logo inspired me to make painting flowers into a class. You just never know what one project will spark another.
